I was originally going to title this post "closing up 2008", but I thought I'm not closing anything, I am looking ahead to the amazing stuff we are going to accomplish next year!
Anyways, this will be the last post of 2008 for my blog. It is amazing how fast time goes by, isn't it? This year has definitely had its ups and downs; from getting Woody to Hannah and her father's accident and everything in between. But, I am so proud of myself and Woody for having advanced SO much in the time we've been together. He came to me knowing the basics of level 1 (but me having to polish it up) and now he is doing circles at a gorgeous trot around me at liberty! He is such a great pony and I really feel like he and I are going to go far.
This coming year a lot is going on. First, I will permanently finish out my career at Faith Christian School in June. I get my driver's liscense (woohoo!) and I will return to being homeschooled. I will have more time to devote to being with Woody and advancing my horsemanship skills. Also, Mom and I will be taking Charlotte and Woody to a Harry Whiteney clinic in June for a week of nothing but learning more about horses, being with horses, getting into the horse's head (not literally!), and having fun. I am also hoping that with more time on my hands I can help out some people with their horses and maybe volunteer some places.
Next year is definitely going to be action packed but I think that it will be the beginning of truly being able to study rigorously the animal and philosophy that is so important to me.
So, until next year
