Visiting Sassy

Yesterday I had a half-day of school for the holidays, so once school was out, Mom and I went out to Christiansburg to Terrie's house to visit Sassy. When we got there, we whistled for her from the car and she picked her head and looked for us. Then, she turned around and tried to nip at a horse behind her with an ugly face (Oh how I missed Sassy's ugly face... haha). We parked, met up with Terrie, and went to the field, and when we entered we were immediantly greeted by a very curious, beautiful quarter horse named Sonny. Sassy soon came up and we all stood there rubbing and petting her, and, of course, feeding her peppermints. It didn't take long for all the other horses to come up and see what the commotion was about (Terrie has some VERY curious horses). After a while we headed down the hill to throw hay out for the herd, and one by one they all came running to get their rations. She also has two mini horses which are the cutest, but one of them has a very severe hoof problem and Terrie is helping her heal up.
When we were leaving we pulled up to Sassy who was eating by the road (Terrie's horses live in the open with cattle guard by the exits and a perimeter fence), and she came right up to the car and stuck her head threw the window to sniff us! It was very funny, and soon her buddy Echo came over to stick her head in with Sassy. We began to drive away again, and Sassy followed our car! So, we stopped again, and searched for another peppermint, but we found none. Finally she left and we pulled away, but it was really sweet how she tried to follow us.
We had a great time going to visit Sassy and I can definitely tell she is MUCH happier with Terrie and 11 other horses to keep her company.
