My aunt, Joanna, and my cousin, Kelsey, are horse people and they came to stay last weekend with our family to visit and ride the horses. So, I helped my cousin with Woody and my mom played with Charlotte and Joanna. We saddled up and went to the round pen for a pre-flight check. Woody did fine, so Kelsey hopped up and rode him around a little. She is not a Parelli student, but was willing to learn so I gave her a short
lesson on riding with Fluidity and moving with Woody rather than bracing. Mom basically did the same thing with Joanna and Charlotte. After Kelsey finished I got on Woody and rode around a little bit outside the fence with Kelsey after she got on Charlotte. We then trekked outside the fence and Woody started poking his head out like he does to try to go up the hill. I one-rein stopped him and after about five of those, he whipped his head around and ripped the rubberband off my safety stirrup and flung it around and threw it on the ground. I hopped off, Yo-Yoed him backwards, and looked for the rubberband. I couldn't find it so I played on the ground with him a bit (trying not to be mad or mean) trying to get the realtionship and respect back, and once he was focusing on me rather than grass, I called it a
day.
Things to work on: Keeping him listening to me rather than stuffing his face!
